Saito Sensei
technical direction is taken from the ESA Technical adviser and Senior Grade Examiner Yasuyoshi Saito, Chief Instructor to Japan Karate-Do International He started karate training at the age of sixteen and studied under the famous JKA sensei, Hiroshi Shoji. He left Japan at the age of twenty three and travelled to America, South America, the Carribean and Europe, teaching karate in all those countries before finally settling in southern Florida. JKA Miami has now been established for thirty years. Up until ten years ago he was part of the ISKF-USA group but then moved on to set up his own organisation, Japan Karate-Do International. Chief Instructor to Japan Karate-Do International (England) Started training in 1970 ,After 20 years in the KUGB attaining 3rd Dan with Sensei K Enoeda, Slater became a founder member of the late Steve Cattle's English Shotokan Academy where he was head of the technical committee and senior Dan Grade examiner. He gained 6th Dan with Sensei Tajji Kase in 2002 and after 17 years in the ESA left to establish the Japan Karate-Do International England (jkie) with Sensei Paul Barron. Slater is renowned for his incredibly powerful techniques and deep understanding and unique approach to kata bunkai.

Personal Profile JKIE Technical Director, NVQ Assessor Started training in 1974 at the local Grimsby KUGB Club; grading to 3rd Dan 11/5/89 with the KUGB. 1990 became one of the founder Executive Members (General Secretary) of the late Steve Cattle sensei's English Shotokan Academy. Graded; 4th (24/2/96) & 5th Dan (16/2/02) date with Kase sensei's International Academy. Several times team and individual National Competition winner.
